We had an eventful weekend. First, my grandmother turned 97 on Friday and all her children converged on her in good ol Huntsville, AL. Wish I could have been there, but a quick drive from Texas was not possible. Friday was also homecoming for our local High School where Wes plays football - they won and Wes had a beautiful 25 yard carry.
Ashley flew into town on Saturday to see her brother Paul get baptized on Sunday. It was a great moment for our family. Paul is an 8th grader and will turn 14 next month. His full name is Jame Paul - James after my grandfather and Paul after Amy's. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. | | | |

As in many cases, great victory is accompanied by great sadness.....
Our dear friend,
Margaret Beaman, was killed in a para sailing
accident.
She was one of Amy's best friends and like a second mother to Ashley. Her daughter, Jordan, and Ashley have been best friends since we moved back to Texas seven years ago. Both boys were as well touched by this event - Margaret was very supportive of them. Two weeks ago she and her husband Mark came to Paul football game and they were coming this Friday to see Wes. Margaret, who had a son who also played football at Wes' school, always sought him out and gave him words of encouragement.
Needless to say, all of us have shed some tears this last day. Please keep us in your prayers as we try to deal with this loss and help others do the same.
