Wow, has another school year gone? While our family experienced a tremendous loss in the fall, the kids had a great year overall. Ashley had a fantastic Freshman year at MICA; the boys had a successful year in school and sports. Somehow, Amy and I have remained sane during all the flux.
Ashley excelled in every area of life. She had a near perfect GPA; started going steady with Danny; helped two friend at MICA come to Christ; got a Resident Assistant job for next year (saving mom/dad a bunch of cash). Her intro to sculpture teacher asked to be a TA saying she was more advanced than some of her juniors. She is spending her summer working at a camp as a lifeguard and counselor.
Wes has a great year as well. First, he had a perfect 4.0 - I never in all my years of schooling accomplished that feat! He had a great year on the football field and on the track. The football team made it to the 2nd round of playoffs. He played offense, defense and special team. His 4x400 team broke the school record and he got to run in both the "Texas Relays" and the Regional meet.
Paul likewise had a great year. Not only did he make a commitment to God in the fall, but he lead his team to the (district) championship game in football. He won the "Football Award "a few weeks ago for his leadership at QB and for the big hits he laid on defense. He was one point away from making the A/B honor role. He's having fun now playing 7-on-7 and volunteering as a JR Counselor at camp.
